ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man has been sentenced for attempted murder in Escambia County.
Assault at business in Mobile leads to two arrests: MPD
Jakari Whetstone is sentenced to 40 years in prison for attempted first-degree premeditated murder with a weapon and shooting at a building, according to a release from the First Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Court records show Whetstone’s girlfriend got into a fight with a neighbor on July 31, 2024. The girlfriend, accompanied by Whetstone, returned to the victim’s home when Whetstone shot at the victim multiple times. After shooting the victim, he and his girlfriend left the scene.
Whetstone was previously convicted of attempted third-degree murder and robbery without a weapon in Tallapoosa County.
