Chick-fil-A on University Drive to close temporarily for remodeling.

The Chick-fil-A in Coral Springs is temporarily closing for renovation and will reopen in February 2026. For many years, long lines of cars have snaked onto University Drive to enjoy their favorite items, such as chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and milkshakes, at Chick-fil-A, but that will change. Starting on September 12, the restaurant at 1341 N. University Drive will be closed for several months as part of a remodeling project aimed at easing congestion and modernizing the property. “I can’t believe they actually shut it down for so long. This is my go-to spot after school.” – Jazmyne Joseph, Freshman.

It seems that everything is changing, but one thing that will stay the same is the indoor playground. Chick-fil-A has chosen to preserve this area, ensuring that kids can continue to enjoy the space once the restaurant opens. Construction timelines have not officially been announced, but updates are expected as the project moves forward. “I am devastated that many changes are going to be made, at least the playgrounds are staying the same.” – Tamara Israel, Freshman.

This renovation is part of Chick-fil-A’s nationwide initiative to update and modernize its current restaurant locations. With drive-thru service making up the majority of the chain’s sales, especially in busy suburban areas like Coral Springs, the company is prioritizing upgrades that increase convenience and capacity. Across the country, Chick-fil-A is investing in smarter kitchen layouts, larger drive-thru lanes, and updated technology systems to meet the expectations of today’s fast-paced consumers. In areas with growing populations like Coral Springs, these upgrades are especially critical in maintaining the brand’s reputation for quality service or operational efficiency…
