More than 500 workers from SafeSource Direct in Broussard are facing unemployment as the company plans to shut down operations. The PPE manufacturer, which started during the pandemic, blamed poor market conditions for its closure. SafeSource Direct announced in early September that it would close by November, affecting 541 employees.
