WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) – Alaska State Troopers say two people in the Mat-Su valley were arrested Saturday for their role in the death of a young child.
Troopers say officers responded to a CPR in progress on a child in Wasilla on Aug. 11, 2025. The child succumbed to injuries after being taken to a hospital. The death was later ruled a homicide.
According to troopers, Jackie Caswell was charged with murder in the 2nd degree, criminally negligent homicide, endangering the welfare of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child. Sergie Krukoff was also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.
