Thriving S.F. mall gets three new stores — all after they closed Union Square locations

Thriving Stonestown Galleria is welcoming three new retailers that all previously shuttered Union Square stores during the pandemic: shoe shop DSW, glasses retailer Jins and fast fashion giant H&M.

DSW opened last week after closing next to the square in 2021, while Jins is opening on Friday, after it closed on Powell Street a few years ago, demonstrating a shift in business investment to the city’s west side.

H&M is returning soon to the thriving mall after leasing the exact same location where it closed a store in 2022, a very unusual move in retail. H&M also closed its flagship Powell Street store in 2020…
