NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A former NOPD officer convicted of civil rights violations that led to a New Orleans man’s death 20 years ago has been released early from federal prison.
The former officer — Melvin Williams — has a connection to another former inmate, a reality TV star recently pardoned by President Trump.
Raymond Robair was a Treme handyman, beaten so badly by the NOPD’s Williams with a metal baton in 2005, he suffered fractured ribs, a ruptured spleen and massive internal bleeding. He died at Charity Hospital…
