Volunteers work with ABCCM to restore housing for Asheville veterans

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Hundreds of volunteers from the Home Depot Foundation and their vendors dedicated a day to working on a local nonprofit’s latest housing project.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, these volunteers worked with the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) to help prepare housing for Asheville veterans.

When Hurricane Helene hit one year ago, ABCCM’s Veterans Restoration Quarters was severely damaged by floodwaters, rendering the building unsafe and displacing hundreds of local veterans. The organization has since launched rebuilding efforts to restore this housing service…
