‘There’s got to be a price to pay’: Cleveland City Council Safety Chair Michael Polensek urges action amid rising violence in Flats

CLEVELAND — Cleveland City Councilman Michael Polensek, who oversees the safety committee, says he’s deeply troubled by yet another shooting in the Flats.

“Totally outrageous, unacceptable … I have never seen the number of guns that I’m seeing now on our streets,” Polensek told 3News Monday. “I don’t know what else I can say. I’m very frustrated about this.”

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, an argument between 21-year-old Zai Vyon Frederick Ocie Jackson and a 24-year-old escalated to gunfire early Sunday morning.
