BUFORD — Buford City Schools continues to earn top marks in statewide and national rankings, with multiple campuses landing at or near the top of the 2026 Best Public Schools list released by Niche.
The annual rankings are based on an analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of parent and student reviews. Factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratios, teacher quality, diversity and overall district quality. Academics carry the most weight at 50 percent, followed by teacher quality (20 percent), districtwide performance (15 percent), culture and diversity (10 percent) and parent-student surveys (5 percent).
Buford was named the No. 1 Best School District in Georgia for the 11th consecutive year. The district serves more than 6,100 students across five campuses — Buford Elementary, Buford Academy, Buford Senior Academy, Buford Middle School and Buford High School — with an average student-teacher ratio of 18-to-1.
