During an outdoor ceremony at the North East WIC Agency on Aug. 22, the Community Women’s Club of North East (CWCNE) was honored by United Neighborhood Facilities Health Care Corporations’ (UNFHCC) Erie County WIC Program’s representatives. This recognition was given to CWCNE for its Diaper Bag Project. Following the recognition ceremony, CWCNE honorees were treated to a delightful luncheon provided by WIC staff members.
On hand were over 35 present and retired WIC staff members, as well as some CWCNE members. Debora Jamison, Erie WIC Director, spoke about the positive impact that CWCNE’s Diaper Bag Project has had on local WIC clients, and she thanked CWCNE members for their efforts. In honor of CWCNE she presented a plaque to Sue Hammond, CWCNE President and Diaper Bag Project Chair. Hammond expressed gratitude to Jamison and WIC staff for the kind recognition, their important work with and support of WIC clients, and their continued partnership with CWCNE. Hammond also acknowledged CWCNE members and their many dedicated volunteer efforts and also the generosity of community supporters who help to make the Diaper Bag Project possible. To date, CWCNE has provided 851 local WIC mothers with diaper bags since the inception of this service project in 2014.
The plaque’s inscription is as follows: “Thank you Community Women’s Club of North East, with great appreciation for your countless hours of hard work and unparalleled dedication to the mothers of the North East WIC Community 2025; From: UNFHCC Erie WIC Program.”…
