Mobile County jury hands death penalty to murderer

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A jury in Mobile County has returned a sentence for Jesse McClure, who was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and animal cruelty on Sept. 29.

According to a news release from Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood’s office, the same jury that found him guilty brought down a death sentence on McClure.

“This was not an easy decision for the jury, and we recognize the weight of what they wereasked to do,” Blackwood said. “They carefully considered the evidence and the law, and in the end, their decision reflects justice based on the facts and circumstances of the case.”

Blackwood and Assistant District Attorney Madison Davis urged members of the jury to impose the death penalty after weighing the “full scope of McClure’s crimes,” the release said…
