Gulf Coast Challenge festivities include free concerts, parade

With the Alabama A&M Bulldogs set to face the Jackson State University Tigers this Saturday, Mobile has more to look forward to than just a game.

Festivities surrounding the annual Gulf Coast Challenge Powered by the Mobile Sports Authority include concerts by Deitrick Haddon, the Ying Yang Twins, Lil Scrappy and Cupid, plus a parade. There’s a change from past years, when game organizers presented some concerts downtown, including a series of concerts held in Mardi Gras Park in 2024. This year’s shows will be staged in the Ladd-Peebles Sports and Entertainment complex.
