The city of Austin seeks public input to proposed changes to iconic Sixth Street

AUSTIN, Texas — The historic home to Austin’s nightlife and entertainment scene is getting a revamp, and the City of Austin is now turning to the community for input.

City leaders are seeking public feedback on three different design options as they develop a long-term streetscape plan for Sixth Street, between Congress Avenue and Interstate 35.

Each alternative shares the goal of expanding pedestrian space, providing curb access and accommodating vehicle traffic.
