SoulFolk Collective study aims to build community for Black students, residents across Madison

The SoulFolk Collective, University of Wisconsin’s first research lab in the Department of African American Studies is conducting a study on where Black people thrive throughout Madison, according to WMTV15.

The research lab has collaborated with the Center of Black Excellence and Culture with the goal of determining how to amplify Black voices and experiences, according to WMTV15.

A goal of this study is for people to be able to find and interact with spaces that are Black-affirming, according to assistant professor of African-American studies and director of the SoulFolk Collective Jessica Lee Stovall in an email statement.
