ANCHORAGE — Federal authorities have charged a Chinese national with participating in an international drug trafficking conspiracy that used a Wasilla virtual mailbox service to ship methamphetamine overseas.
Prosecutors say 42-year-old Zukai He entered the U.S. illegally in 2017 and was under an order of removal issued last year. While living in California, He allegedly stole a resident’s personal information to open a fraudulent account at the Wasilla-based mailbox service.
Investigators say packages linked to the account — ultimately bound for New Zealand — contained nearly three kilograms of methamphetamine hidden inside a stamping machine and a 3D printer. Customs officials later intercepted additional parcels mailed from Arizona to New Zealand, each containing more than a kilogram of meth.
