Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski, Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich and the Summit Legal Defenders will host the second annual Expungement Filing Day on Friday, Oct. 10. The event, held from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Summit County Courthouse, is for residents with eligible convictions who want to have their records expunged or sealed under Ohio law.
This initiative is aimed at helping citizens become productive members of the community by removing barriers to employment and housing. In a press release, Galonski said the goal is to “assist in this sort of restorative justice.” While Ohio law requires a $50 filing fee, it may be waived based on income.
