Lawyer waives hearing, charged with stealing $300,000 from Carousel at Pottstown

LIMERICK — A Pottstown lawyer must answer to charges in Montgomery County Court that he allegedly embezzled $300,000 from the Carousel at Pottstown, a nonprofit organization that oversees the operation of the historic carousel, and used the money for his personal expenses.

Adam Jacob Sager, 56, who has a law office along East High Street in Pottstown and who most recently listed an address in Sarasota, Fla., on Wednesday waived his preliminary hearing before District Court Judge Richard H. Welsh on charges of attempted theft by deception, theft by deception, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, attempted forgery and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity in connection with alleged thefts that occurred between July and September 2019 while he was a member of the foundation’s board of directors.
