BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham medical service startup that was recently acquired by a national corporation will soon be closing, putting nearly 100 people out of work.
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notification posted by the Alabama Department of Commerce, Quest Diagnostic will shutter Pack Health, a patient-engagement company founded in 2013 in Birmingham that provides tips for people to dealing with both chronic and mental illnesses caused by lifestyle choices and access to proper care. The planned closing, which will begin Nov. 28, will affect 98 employees.
