SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Dozens of cars were broken into early Tuesday morning across Spartanburg County, with around 50 reports received by the sheriff’s office.
The break-ins occurred near clusters of hotels in areas such as Westgate Mall in Spartanburg and a QT gas station in Duncan, where broken glass was found littering the parking lots. Deputies noted that the incidents were unusual due to the number of smashed windows, as break-ins typically involve unlocked cars.
