Knox County Schools discuss changing Gifted and Talented policy after federal funding freeze

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — The Knox County Schools Board of Education is set to discuss policy changes to the Gifted and Talented program on Monday at a regularly scheduled board meeting.

Those changes include deleting sections referring to Gifted and Talented Coaches, positions that were cut during a federal funding freeze this summer. The policy change is also coming with a new name for the program: Advanced Learners.
