Pasadena police chase ends in violent crash into building

PASADENA, Texas — A man was flown to the hospital early Tuesday after a police chase in Pasadena ended with a violent crash into a building, according to investigators.

Lt. Craig Hamilton with the Pasadena Police Department said it began around 1 a.m. when an officer spotted a vehicle driving recklessly near Spencer Highway and York Street.

“The subject acted like he was going to stop. Then he fled at a high rate of speed as he entered the area of York,” Hamilton said. “There’s a slight curve in the roadway. He unfortunately lost control and then ran into a building.”

Extrication and medical response

Officers were unable to reach the driver immediately because the front of his vehicle had crashed inside the building. The South Houston Fire Department was called to the scene to help extricate him…
