A bold and imaginative new art exhibition is set to ignite conversation at Lone Star College-CyFair this fall. Opening October 2 and running through November 6, the Bosque Gallery will host After the Bonfire, a joint exhibition by visiting artists Brittany Ham and Justin Korver, featuring entirely new works created specifically for the Cypress campus.
Bosque Gallery coordinator Heather Braman shared her excitement about the exhibit, saying, “This joint exhibition builds on Brittany and Justin’s explorations as a team, and we are delighted they are creating brand new works just for Bosque Gallery. They are premiering a tapestry that will run the length of the wall as well as soft sculptures never before seen.”
The installation will include hybrid creatures—mesmerizing fusions of dogs, deer, and humans—crafted in soft sculpture and tapestry that reinterpret the age-old theme of “the hunt.” Drawing from European painting and sculpture traditions, the artists subvert classical gender norms often embedded in those narratives…
