Calera police nab suspect selling stolen tools on Facebook Marketplace

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. – A Calera business recently fell victim to a burglary, losing several thousand dollars’ worth of tools, according to police.

During the investigation, detectives discovered some of the stolen items for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

A meeting was arranged, and when the suspect arrived, he was met by two plainclothes officers, leading to a swift arrest. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence in Chilton County uncovered more stolen items. The tools will be returned to their rightful owner, and the suspect faces burglary charges…
