BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The city of Homewood is weighing a new ordinance aimed at addressing homeless encampments seen around the community, but the proposal is already raising questions about potential legal challenges.
City leaders introduced the measure earlier this week but did not bring it to a vote after failing to get unanimous consent to suspend the rules. The ordinance is expected to be considered again at the council’s next meeting on Oct. 13.
