Teen driver critically injured in crash involving stolen Kia in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after police said he crashed a stolen vehicle into another car Wednesday afternoon in Rochester.

Just after 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Epworth Street and Dr. Samuel McCree Way for a crash. According to investigators, four teens were driving recklessly in a stolen Kia Sportage, including through school ballfields.

Police said the Kia was traveling the wrong way on Epworth Street when it struck another vehicle head-on at the intersection.

The 16-year-old driver of the Kia, a city resident, was trapped in the SUV and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening upper-body injuries…
