Driver traveling at 129 mph arrested in Pinellas County, FHP says

TAMPA, Fla. — An 18-year-old was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor charge after allegedly driving his car at 129 mph on the Gandy Bridge, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The arresting trooper said in an arrest report that Declan Sheppard was traveling westbound on the bridge in a blue Mazda.

According to FHP records, the driver was arrested “for dangerous excessive speeding” in a 55 miles per hour area in Pinellas County…
