Messages to the future: MUSD buries time capsule of present-day artifacts

On September 19, the Milpitas Unified School District (MUSD) held a ceremony to bury a time capsule into the ground of the Innovation Campus at 1331 E. Calaveras Blvd.

The time capsule was filled with present-day artifacts, including yearbooks, momentos, and shirts from schools in the district, along with letters from members of MUSD’s Board of Education.

“In this time capsule, we have artifacts, memories, and messages that will be carried forward to the future generations of Milpitas Unified,” said MUSD Superintendent Cheryl Jordan during the program. “And every 25 years, the next MUSD generations of educators, community, families, and alumni will reveal what it is that the generations before them wanted them to continue to be inspired by. And then they will replace it with their own messages for the next 25-year generation.”

Henry Robinson, who has worked as an educator for MUSD for several decades and serves as a community liaison, facilitated the collection of all the items in the time capsule……
