SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A new space for the Upside Down Mercantile is officially open in Springfield. It’s just one door down from their old space on Commercial Street, but it offers much more space.
The store is the retail arm of the Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks. Everything at the store is developed, branded, or sold by people with Down Syndrome.
“The space is awesome,” said Scott Kirby of the Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks. “It’s going to allow for more space for not just more vendors, more of our individuals to have businesses, but also for the community. Our old space, again, we outgrew it. It was very packed. Even if you got a few customers in, it was tough to get anybody else in there to look around, and so this has more space and we’ve got space for vendors and customers walking around.”…
