WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – McConnell Air Force Base said the government shutdown will have an impact on its personnel, including the furlough of 606 civilian workers from the 22nd and 931st Air Refueling Wings, and 184th Wing.
A public affairs spokesman for the base stated that military personnel will continue to defend the nation and conduct ongoing military operations, without pay, until a continuing resolution or budget is passed.
The spokesman said the Commissary, Base Exchange and Shoppette will remain open, with no change in operating hours. Medical and Pharmacy operations will remain open, with no change in operating hours. The Pass and Registration office will operate on a weekday-only schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will have limited staff availability.
