CSPD: 11 cited for trespassing at abandoned hotel

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD)’s Downtown Area Response Team (DART) saw activity at an abandoned hotel and police cited 11 people for trespassing, according to CSPD.

CSPD said on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at around 8 a.m., DART Officer Mueller noted active trespassing and potential narcotics usage occurring at an abandoned motel in the 1600 block of South Nevada Avenue near Cheyenne Boulevard.

CSPD Homeless Outreach Team and DART coordinated to respond, along with assistance of the Real Time Crime Center, and noted several of the motel rooms had opened doors, and people were on the property. CSPD noted smoke was coming from one of the rooms…
