GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is OK after reportedly being trapped in an elevator for nearly seven hours over the weekend.
The Ann Arbor Fire Department was contacted Sunday morning after an elevator car at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital became stuck in a blind hoistway. The elevator car was approximately 30 feet below the eighth floor. That particular elevator did not have access for the fifth through seventh floors.
“The elevator’s service brake had also locked, preventing the secondary option of lowering the car. The elevator technician on scene confirmed the car could not be moved without major repairs,” AAFD said in a statement…
