As growth continues in Weaverville, town may hit limit on accepting property into town limits

The former mayor of Weaverville is behind a potential 107-acre development consisting of homes, apartments or condos and commercial businesses proposed for a tract that’s now open fields and farmland. Specific plans for the development have not yet been unveiled, however, an LLC called WeaverVegas has submitted an application to the town of Weaverville that would pave the way for the next steps.

The development is one of two recent harbingers that future development is continuing to come Weaverville’s way. The Weaverville Town Council last week considered two agenda items tied to future developments: the 107-acre WeaverVegas development and another that is only a pipe dream for now, pending a clean bill of health from environmental monitoring.

Developers are interested in the old Baldcrank property at 115 Reems Creek, but it is currently on an environmental monitoring watchlist.
