Rescued in Red Bank: Harriet the possum now recovering thanks to police officers’ actions

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Officers from the Red Bank Police Department are being called heroes for rescuing a young female opossum after she had been hit by a car.

Late last month, officers found the animal and immediately transported her to Opie Acres Wildlife and Opossum Rehabilitation.

She was admitted as a critical care patient with a severe head injury.
