The Pioneer Museum of Alabama will host its annual Pioneer Days Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.
“Pioneer Days are fun, educational days that give event guests an appreciation of the people who came before us and the times they lived in,” said Barbara Tatom, museum director. “They were hard working, ingenious, creative people who paved the way for the easier times that we now live in.”
Tatom said guests learn about the old ways including rope-making, woodworking, open hearth cooking, wood stove cooking, blacksmithing, quilting, weaving, sewing, spinning, traditional music playing, quill making, candle dipping, mountain dulcimer playing and chuck wagon featuring Dutch oven cooking and candle dipping…
