NJ community mourns loss of 24-year-old police dispatcher

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A North Bergen police dispatcher was remembered after a deadly crash that took place on Sunday.

A 24-year-old dispatcher for the North Bergen Police Department is being remembered as a thoughtful, selfless young man just days after his death.

Brian Rivera, who lived in West New York, was driving his younger brother and two friends home from a soccer game Sunday night when a Honda Accord collided with Rivera’s Toyota Corolla on Tonnelle Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in North Bergen.

According to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, a North Bergen Police lieutenant in a marked vehicle was following the Accord for a traffic violation when the Accord slammed into Rivera’s sedan…
