CHP Warns Drivers to Slow Down After Issuing 109mph Speeding Ticket

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is warning motorists to slow down after issuing a speeding ticket to a driver exceeding 100 mph in Santa Barbara last week.

Last Thursday, CHP pulled over a white SUV traveling northbound on Highway 101, just north of State Street, for driving 109 mph in a 65 mph zone.

“At that speed, the driver’s reaction time is drastically reduced, and the chance of a serious or fatal crash skyrockets. Please slow down. Follow the speed limit. Arrive alive. Your safety—and the safety of everyone around you—depends on it,” CHP states.

The driver was cited for driving over 100 mph on a California freeway, which could lead to a significant fine and 30 day license suspension…
