SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Aaron Albaugh, a fourth-generation cattle rancher, lives in Lassen County in the state’s northeast and says he wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
“It’s beautiful,” he said. “We don’t have traffic congestion. We don’t have stoplights. We don’t have much of anything, but that’s what I like.”
Lassen County has about 30,000 people, with agriculture and prisons as major employers. It’s now in Republican-leaning Congressional District 1, but if Proposition 50 passes, the district would add Democratic-leaning Santa Rosa, population 178,000…
