Reader Jonathan D. let me know that the classic Mesa Pizza Company Italian Restaurant, at 315 Meigs Road, is launching a second location at 6576 Trigo Road in Isla Vista which is immediately to the right of Elubia’s Kitchen. Mesa Pizza is family-owned since 1996, serving gourmet pizzas with unique recipes and fresh ingredients. Last August I wrote that a pizza place was coming here but didn’t yet know the backstory. This address was once the home of “Sun and Earth,” a well-loved vegetarian restaurant, as well as Vista Cafe and Cafe Nirvana. Visit mesapizzaco.com
