OMNY system to be ‘limited’ over the weekend

NEW YORK (PIX11) — If you’re taking mass transit to get around New York City over the weekend, be prepared to see some limited service with the MTA’s OMNY tap-and-go system.

OMNY services are expected to be limited and transactions delayed during a planned system upgrade between 10 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Sunday, according to the MTA.

The upgrade is expected to help prevent future trip and charge processing delays like those seen over the summer, a notice on the OMNY website read.
