Plea date set for woman charged with fatally stabbing fiancé

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A Dec. 22 plea date was set Friday for Tonia Piontek, who allegedly fatally stabbed her fiancé at their Smith Street home.

Piontek, 46, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the April 13 incident.

A status hearing was held Thursday, but the attorneys were not ready to schedule a trial yet. The Dec. 22 conference was scheduled as a plea hearing in case a deal is reached. If not, a trial date may be set then.

According to the criminal complaint, Piontek called 911 around 10 p.m. to report she had stabbed the man. An account of the call shows that she told the dispatcher they had both been drinking…
