Lubbock Pet Owners: Claim Your Free Spay/Neuter Voucher Soon

Lubbock pet owners, here’s some exciting news! A FREE spay and neuter voucher giveaway will soon be available to help local residents provide affordable care for their cats and dogs. This limited-time program is designed to reduce pet overpopulation while supporting families who want the best for their furry friends. Here’s what you need to know about when and where to get your voucher.

Why Free Spay and Neuter Vouchers Matter in Lubbock

Lubbock has a pet overpopulation problem. Many shelters and rescues remain at or near capacity year-round with both cats and dogs. This issue is easily prevented with responsible ownership, that is, spaying or neutering your animals.

However, the cost of a spay or neuter can be steep, and with inflated costs of everything else lately, it may be cost-prohibitive to get this care for your animal. That is why Lubbock Animal Services is offering a FREE spay/ neuter voucher event.

When and Where the Voucher Giveaway Will Take Place

The event will be at Lubbock Animal Services at 3323 SE Loop 289 on Monday, October 27, starting at 8 a.m. There will be 300 vouchers available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one voucher per household. To qualify, you must live within Lubbock city limits (bring an I.D. or a bill with your in-town address), and your pet must be present to receive a free microchip or have their existing chip scanned. All microchips provided with the vouchers are completely free of charge, and each voucher will be valid for three months from the date it is issued.

Additionally, your pet must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccine. If they are not (or you can’t prove it) you will be responsible for the cost of the vaccine at the time of your pet’s spay/neutering; however, rabies vaccines are not usually expensive…
