Portland-area food banks anticipate rising demand for services amid government shutdown

TUALATIN Ore. (KPTV) – Wednesday marks the first day of the government shutdown, but local food banks and pantries are already anticipating a rising need for their services.

“We, of course, will keep our doors open and serve everyone that we can, but definitely a stressful situation,” said Danielle Schnider, Executive Director of Tualatin Food Pantry.
