Quick response by Corvallis firefighters prevents fire spread

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A swift response by the Corvallis Fire Department contained a house fire on NW Kings Boulevard on Wednesday, fire officials said.

Corvallis fire authorities said that fire crews responded shortly after noon on Oct. 1. Thanks to a swift response, the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes and no injuries were reported. Firefighters arrived to find active flames and heavy smoke. They quickly searched the home and put out the fire, preventing it from spreading to other properties. Corvallis police closed Northwest Kings Boulevard from Northwest Circle Boulevard to Northwest Forestgreen Drive for about two-and-a-half hours while fire crews fought the blaze. Philomath Fire and Rescue provided emergency coverage for Corvallis while fire crews were on scene, Corvallis fire officials said.

Fire Chief Ben Janes praised the team’s efforts. “Our firefighters did an outstanding job today, fast, effective, and focused on keeping everyone safe,” Janes said…
