One year after Hurricane Helene decimated western North Carolina and parts of Tennessee, Lake Lure Flowering Bridge near Chimney Rock is starting to rebuild—including the beloved Rainbow Bridge.
Tucked away in the mountains of western North Carolina, Lake Lure’s Rainbow Bridge served as a powerful remembrance location where pet owners who had loved and lost came to secure collars to a brightly colored bridge and enjoy a moment of quiet remembrance in the nearby garden.
