A Broad Run woman convicted of 60 counts of animal abuse in 2023 was ordered to appear in Fauquier County Circuit Court Thursday morning after violating the conditions of her probation, which required her to pay $1.5 million in restitution to the Fauquier SPCA.
According to court documents obtained by FauquierNow, probation officials reported in July that Irina Sergeyevna Barrett failed to meet the goals outlined in her case plan.
“She has not gained employment as of the writing of this report and reports to this office that she is unable to make payments toward her court ordered restitution of $1.5 million to the Fauquier SPCA,” wrote District 29 Fairfax Probation and Parole Officer Lamesha Walker. “[Barrett is required to make] monthly payments of $1,000 due on the first of each month, starting 90 days after her release from the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center on March 9. A verbal warning was issued on June 20 and July 14.”…
