BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Five men — including one who escaped from custody last month — were sentenced Thursday to life terms in prison in connection with gang-related shootings.
As previously reported by 17 News, Ulices Alonso, Eric Faria, Francisco Gracia, Uriel Ramirez, all 22, and Ulyses Zelayandia, 24, were found guilty over the summer of charges including conspiracy to commit murder. They’re members of the Colonia Bakers street gang.
Garcia, Faria, Ramirez and Zelayandia were convicted in connection with a shooting that wounded two people Dec. 24, 2021, in the 1900 block of Kentucky Street.
Additionally, all five defendants were convicted in the fatal shooting of Mario Bravo at Mesa Marin Sports Complex on the night of Sept. 29, 2021.
