A Bronx mother said her daughter is scared to go back into the building that partially collapsed on Wednesday morning, frantically texting her throughout the school day.
Merlyn Olivo said her daughter’s school pulled her aside shortly after news of the building collapse broke just after 8 a.m. and told her what had happened. She began to cry, Olivo said, then texted her mother, “Mami, I don’t wanna go in there.”
Olivo, who moved into the apartment complex at 205 Alexander Ave. two years ago with her two daughters, is now scrambling to figure out where she and her family will be able to go until either the building is cleared or they find another place to live.
“I am worried about everything,” she told The Mirror US. “I don’t feel safe to go in there. The people who were there, I don’t think they’re gonna feel safe to go there.”…
