Owner of Staunton clinic has her nursing license suspended by state board

A nurse practitioner and owner of A Family Care Clinic, formerly located on Lambert Avenue in Staunton, had her license suspended last week by the state following allegations she improperly prescribed opioids and failed to engage in proper practices regarding the management of chronic pain for several of her patients.

On Sept. 26, the Virginia Committee of the Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine suspended the license of Amy E. Kubler, an advanced practice registered nurse, concluding “that a substantial danger to public health or safety warrants this action,” according to the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

In mid-June, online chatter concerning Kubler’s Staunton practice surfaced on the Facebook page of the Waynesboro VA Community. “Does anyone have ANY information about the status of Amy Kubler, NP’s office situation?
