FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WJW) – A North Carolina man got a winning lottery prize that was bigger than he expected.
According to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery, a Fayetteville man arrived at the lottery headquarters on Friday to pick up what he believed was a $2,000 prize. But, he was shocked to learn that his winnings were actually the $150,000 top prize.

“I’ve never seen such a thing,” Herminio Rivera said at the lottery headquarters. “That’s a lot of money.”
According to the release, Rivera said he knew he had won a big prize when his scanned ticket said he needed to go to the headquarters to claim his prize. He just didn’t know quite how big the prize would be…
