SILER CITY, N.C. — A 28-year-old man was arrested Thursday after deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at his Siler City home, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Damian Von Shealy Mitchell, who was serving electronic house arrest, was being checked by deputies to make sure he was following the rules of his monitoring program. During the visit, Mitchell resisted arrest and assaulted deputies before being subdued and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, deputies said.
He faces charges including felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor assault on a law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. He was also served with an arrest order for failing to appear on a prior felony charge and is being held without bond.
